Psalm 145 Acrostic

Always I will exalt you, my God the King, praising your name forever and ever.

Both day and night, every day, I will praise you, extolling your name forever and ever.

Certainly the Lord is great and most worthy of praise, so much so that no one can fathom his greatness.

Down the generations, one generation will commend your works to the next, telling of your mighty acts.

Everyone will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works.

Fantastic stories will they tell of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds.

Goodness—yours!– is so abundant, and they will celebrate it, joyfully singing of your righteousness.

How gracious and compassionate the Lord is! So slow to anger and so rich in love!

I see that the Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

Joyfully, all you have made will praise you, O Lord; your saints will extol you.

“Kingdom coming in glory!” they will say of your kingdom, speaking of your might,

Letting all men know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom,

Making known your kingdom as an everlasting one, your dominion enduring through all generations.

Notice how faithful the Lord is to all his promises, how loving toward all he has made.

Observe that the Lord upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.

Provision from you: Everyone’s eyes look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time.

Quietly you open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

Righteous in all his ways is the Lord, and loving toward all he has made.

Surely the Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Those who fear him he hears, fulfilling their desires when they cry, and saving them.

Unfailingly the Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

Virtually all the time will my mouth speak in praise of the Lord—in the same way let every creature praise his holy name forever and ever.
