NUGGETS

Nancy:

If you were panning for gold, would you really care if you had panned for one year or thirty, once you had struck it rich? Once you started finding nuggets, would you care how many rocks—or even tons of rocks—you had already sifted through? Probably not.

I’m here to tell you, you’ve already started finding nuggets, you’ve simply forgotten them.

Hannah Hurnard, in Hind’s Feet on High Places and Mountains of Spices [the sequel, which really should be included in the same volume when printed], calls them “Stones of Remembrance” (as does Fuchia Pickett in a book by that name), a term taken from the command given the Israelites entering the Promised Land for establishing a spiritual heritage to be passed on to the next generation. They were to tell their children, “See that pile of rocks there? That’s to help us remember when the Lord saved us by….” The stones were their Vietnam Wall of Remembrance, their monuments erected on their “Ground Zeroes.”

And I’m telling you, you already have some. BEGIN TO LOOK FOR THEM & WRITE THEM DOWN! (I’m going to start sharing with you some of mine!)
